Director, Network Operations

Mozes is an interactve mobile marketing startup based in Palo Alto, CA. We're looking for a highly motivated network operations leader to assume responsibility for one of the most challenging and rewarding opportunities in mobile. This position requires solid technical understanding, excellent communications skills, and keen business acumen. The successful candidate will show a burning desire to join an entrepreneurial team out to create an innovative and powerful mobile marketing network.

Responsibilities

• Web and telecom service delivery partner selection and management
• Operations planning, integration, and day-to-day administration
• Projects may include (but are not limited to):
      Web: Hosting and partner web services integration (including data feeds & e-commerce)
      Mobile messaging: SMS aggregator integration for messaging and billing
      Voice telephony: PSTN and VoIP terminaton, IVR systems integration
      Digital content: Management, commerce & reporting systems integration
• Internal IT operations (desktop and general IT systems support)

Other Requirements

• 5-10 years experience with web hosting and network administration
• Experience with telecom service provider business terms and technical integration
• Ability to work with product, engineering, and support teams to develop network/systems requirements
• Maturity and business understanding to drive vendor selection (RFPs and contract negotiations)
• Keen mind for process and communications needed to identify, isolate, and resolve problems rapidly
• Must be self-motivated to tenaciously increase quality of service while driving costs down
• Familiarity with Ethereal, Wireshark and other telecom troubleshooting tools a plus

Education

• BS in a technical field
• MBA a plus

Lead Web Developer

Mozes Inc., a funded start-up, is seeking a rock star web developer. Have you proven your skills as a front-end developer? Are you ready to take on a leadership and architect role and build a great team? Are you interested in what happens when music and mobile devices meet the web? If so, a small but growing technical team in downtown Palo Alto may be just the place for you!

In this role you will help design, build, test, operate and refine the front-end of our web application. Your forward-thinking design will transform our web experience from a destination at Mozes.com, into components that deliver a great experience as widgets on other sites, on mobile phones, and projected to screen at live events. You will also collaborate with the product team to design for usability, create realistic schedules, diagnose and fix bugs.

Technical Requirements

• At least 5+ years of work experience in web application development, preferably at the same company.
• Strong experience with cross-platform DHTML, CSS, Javascript 2.0, AJAX, JSON, Flash ActionScript 3.0 and other Web 2.0 tools desirable.
• Extensive knowledge of cross-browser compatibility & browser degradation strategies.
• Previous work experience with PHP or other similar scripting languages.
• Strong debugging skills and the ability to optimize code for speed.
• Understanding of OOP and event-driven programming.
• Knowledge of HCI and application UI design.
• Experience porting web applications for mobile phones a big plus.
• Experience with widget development, social networking platforms, and front end web syndication & mashup schemes is a plus.

Other Requirements

• BS technical degree with a proven high academic achievement.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple simultaneous tasks with minimal supervision.
• Involvement in advancing web standards, demonstrating industry thought leadership is a plus.
• Authorization to work in the US.

QA Manager

The successful candidate will join an entrepreneurial team out to change the way people use their mobile phones and how the bands and brands they love interact with them.

Responsibilities

We're looking for an experienced QA manager with great collaboration skills and a burning desire to join a dynamic startup. Success in this position will require a strong technical background with web and telecom systems and meticulous attention to detail.

• Writing test plans and driving execution with internal and external resources
• Evaluating, selecting, and managing relationships and projects with testing houses
• Evaluating, selecting, and implementing test automation tools
• System testing across messaging, voice, and web infrastructure
• Coordinate with support, product, engineering, and operations teams

Skills

• Proven ability to plan and manage projects across teams
• Desire to "get it right" drives you just as much as "getting it done"
• Creativity and resourcefulness to ensure high quality under tight deadlines and with the constraints of a startup
• Hands-on experience with web application testing
• Familiarity with mobile phone capabilities and user interface
• Past experience with interactive text, voice (IVR) systems, and VoIP a plus

Education

• College degree in a technical field
• BS desired
